We need a little patience for the officiel and complete results of the Blits tournaments. Probably they are available this evening or tomorrow.

By the way: Piet gave us tremendous support before and during the tournament! A very, very big compliment to Piet Bouma!

Wouter Sipma has won his last game. Boomstra did as well, but Sipma collected more resistance points.

Ayyyna Sobakina Champion of Europe (Girls 16)
Posted by: j.e.de.vries at 2009-08-06 19:46:19
Ayyyna Sobakina (Russia) did win the Europian title (Girls 16). There was a dramatical moment for Karlijn Overes. She played a great tournament but she lost the last game.

Andrei Tolchykau strong winner Boys 19
Posted by: j.e.de.vries at 2009-08-06 18:57:10
With a strong offensive Andrei Tolchykau (Belarus) defeated Matthias de Kruijf in the last round. His only rival Denis Dudco (Moldavie) has a difficult posiotion against Ainur Shaybakov at this moment

Maryia Mironava (Belarus) won the title. She used two quick combinations to win. On live draught you could follow the game. Congratulations.
At the picture it is the right player.

Sorry, again a mistake
Posted by: feike at 2009-08-06 15:43:52
Due to the delayed eights round, I unfortunately made an input error again. Roel Boomstra is not playing against Wouter Sipma, but against Maksym Sharov.

Sipma also on top
Posted by: j.e.de.vries at 2009-08-06 14:51:33

Wouter Sipma (Boys 16) has traced his teammate Boomstra. Both are member of the organizing Hijken DTC. Safonov is still playing at this moment. After more than 100 moves, he has chances to win.

Karlijn Overes defeated Rajasalu (Est) and is lonely on top.

Vera Kvashinskaja first champion

Vera Kvashinskaja (Girls 13)from Belarus is the first champion of this tournament. She defeated Michelle de Jong. She is unattainable for the other girls. Congratulations!

Live comments on the topgames
Posted by: feike at 2009-08-06 11:56:32
Live comments possible at final round with Toernooibase/Tournamentbase

During the last round of the EC Youth it is possible to make live comments on the topgames.

The same feature which was used during the WK match Schwarzman – Georgiev.

You can make your comments (also guests) at Toernooibase/Tournamentbase.

toernooibase and then the link Livegames.

The topgames in Tournamentbase are showed in a different way, without graphics of Horizon and with navigation arrows. With the option Make comment you can make encouragements to the player(s) or technical remarks at the game. (P.S. the server-time of Tournamentbase is Beilen time – minus two hours. So the time showed at the remarks is different than the real time).

Watch it: when the applet does not start, there can be a conflict in your browser with the other livepage from the EC-page. You then can shut down the EC-livepage and refresh Tournamentbase, or use Tournamentbase in another browser (for example, livepage EC-Youth: Internet Explorer, livepage Tournamentbase: Firefox).

Anton Bursuk has his birthday
Posted by: feike at 2009-08-06 09:11:12
Today it's Anton Bursuk's birthday. But that doesn't mean he is allowed to play on two boards. I made a mistake while inputting the names for liveboards.

Martijn van Ijzendoorn plays his match against Anton Permyakov.

Boomstra beats Safonov
Posted by: j.e.de.vries at 2009-08-05 23:23:08
Most striking news is the scenery change at 'Boys 16'. Roel Boomstra defeated his competitor Safonov and took the lead. Tomorrow he plays against Rik Verboon.

Escape from Safonov
Posted by: j.e.de.vries at 2009-08-04 19:49:15
Alexander Safonov leads de ‘Boys 16’. He had a miracle escape against Van den Broek in the 5th round. Karlijn Overes still leads de ‘Girls 16’, together with the Russian player Ayyyna Sobakina.

Mei-Jhi Wu did not fail against the strong player Matrena Nogovitsyna. Nogovitsyna leads.
In ‘Boys 19’ Tolchykau became company from Kolobov and Dudco.

Intermediate round 6: IJzendoorn leads
Posted by: j.e.de.vries at 2009-08-04 19:10:55
Not all games are finished yet, but there are some results in the younger groupes.
Martijn van IJzendoorn has taken the front position. Eastern Europe is powerful by the ‘Girls 13’. The White Russian Vera Kvashinskaja leads with 11 point from 6 games.

The young Polish player Karol Cichocki leads with 2 points gap. He defeated the Russian player Andrej Urndzentiev, or is he still named Innokientiev? In the category ‘Girls 10’ the White Russian player Maryia Mironava leads.

Mistake

Sorry, the names of the B19 game Palmans - Tolchikau are exchanged. Palmans plays with white.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Good news: live draughts is working again
Posted by: j.e.de.vries at 2009-08-02 12:00:33
The problem with the live draughts seemed to be solved. Probably it crashed because of the extreme use of the network in the playing location. Friendly request to all players, and accompaniment not to use the network in playing location, so we can service all people who follow the tournament by internet.

Live draughts doesn
Posted by: j.e.de.vries at 2009-08-02 11:10:56
Unfortunately the live draughts (second round) doesn’t work at this moment. We are busy to solve this problem. Excuse for this discomfort. We try to solve it before the start of round 3.

Feike Boomstra is testing live draugths

Feike Boomstra is testing live draugths. It is expected that you can see the topplayers in each category live. Feike is a busy man. He controls live draughts, is busy to look if his son Roel will defense his title and will continue with his own analyse programme Horizon.

The championships moves closer!
Posted by: j.e.de.vries at 2009-07-17 18:36:56
From 16 countries participants will come to Beilen. We will expect 240 young draught players. At this moment in the Netherlands the championships are in progress. That will make clear which Dutch players will reach the championships.

In the shopping centre of Beilen there will be a draughts show with blind and simultaneous draughts. This will take plays on Wednesday 5th of August, 13.00 p.m..

Making a website seems to be easy. To have one that can integrate the possibilities of Toernooibase and the Live games is more difficult. Fortunatily, Drenthe College did help. With great thanks to the students of the Drenthe College.

The pictures are showing the delivery. Thanks to:Vincent van Deemter, Bo van der Born, Jesper Veldhuizen en Patrick Wassen en counselor Titia Brouwer
